She launched Unique Sonoma Salon founded as her main head quarters where she also serves as the artistic director and lead stylist/artist, recently expended and branch out her bridal business as Monique Javier Bridal Hair and Make up Destination Weddings Nationwide.

Let me start by saying, I'm a complete skeptic when it comes to hair and makeup for weddings. When I've had my hair done as a bridesmaid in the past, it's always been okay at best and I've basically given up on having someone else do my makeup. Every time I've had my makeup done, my face feels like plastic by the time they are done with it. So, I wash it off and end up doing it over myself. Needless to say, I didn't have high expectations going into my wedding day. But instead of the usual hatred I have for professionally done hair and makeup, I was absolutely blown away! Monique did an amazing job on my hair and she added her own personal touches while still meeting my every wish. She added two small clips in addition to the hair piece that I already had and it was the perfect compliment to the look. Hands down, the best up-do I've ever had! Then, if it couldn't get any better, my eye makeup looked unbelievable. I wish I would have paid more attention as to how she did it, because I'd love to be able to create that look again. She made my eyes pop while still looking natural. The number of compliments I had on my hair and makeup were endless. Monique and one of the other stylists also did my mother's hair, as well as my 6 bridesmaids, ranging in length and thickness and every single one of them looked as good as the next. It truly looked like the same amount of care given to my hair was also given to theirs, which doesn't happen very often. Every single one of them looked gorgeous and they were all as thrilled with their hair styles as I was about mine. Monique and an assistant did both the hair and makeup for me (bride), my bridal party (2), mother of the bride and mother of the groom for our August 2013 wedding. I had done a preview with Monique several months before and it went very well, but I was still nervous for how I would look the day of the wedding because I have only had my makeup done once and my hair done a couple times in my life. Once she arrived the day of the wedding, she put my nerves at ease. She efficiently did hair and makeup for all of us girls, asking many questions along the way to ensure that each of us felt comfortable and beautiful with our look. I have very long thick hair and she styled it in a way that far exceeded my expectations. She put flowers in my hair and placed my veil perfectly. I felt so beautiful with my hair and makeup, it stayed put all night long, and it looks great in the photographs. I really appreciate the time she spent with our group. She put us at ease and offered a calm vibe for my wedding-day nerves! I give her my highest recommendation - if you can book her, you are lucky :)

Policies

We require a signed contract and 50% deposit for all bookings. Contracts will be sent to you via email along with an invoice and will allow you to sign and pay effortlessly online. Payments can be made with credit/debit or Venmo. The remainder balance will be due 2 weeks prior to the event.

A trial session does not ensure a booking.

Availability changes instantaneously, early booking is highly recommended.

Accepted forms of payment: Credit, Debit, Venmo.

For parties including 10 or more services 20% gratuity will be included in your final balance.

Prices are subject to change without prior notice.

Once booked, we will put together a schedule of your services finishing you up at the ‘ready’ time noted on the contract.
Trial Runs
-
Trial runs are highly recommended so that we can get to know one another and establish your final look before the big day. However, we do get many brides who must forgo the trial run. In that case we ask that you send us a current photo of yourself as well as inspiration photos of the look you wish to achieve so we can be prepared.

Since we are all on location, trial runs are done at the client’s location of choice.
Additional Information

We have a 4 service minimum for bookings. Hair & Makeup is considered 2 services. Eyes Only, Face Only, Flower Girls and Mens Grooming are considered a half service. If you are eloping, or having a small wedding during weekdays and do not require 4 services, please let us know and we can see if we can still work you in!

All services include airbrush foundation. We have chosen to do this because we as artists have found airbrush foundation to be far superior then traditional foundation in its finish as well as longevity. It is optional; so just let your artist know if you prefer traditional foundation. Either way you will look amazing once we are finished!

All services also include faux individual lashes. They can be done very natural or dramatic, depending on your choice. They are very comfortable, last all day and are gentle on the eyes and real lashes. These are optional as well.

We do offer lip stick and or gloss available for purchase, or bring your favorite lip stick for touch ups. Tissues are great for blotting, or you can bring some of your favorite blotting papers. We do not currently provide touch up kits, as we have found our makeups do not require much to touch up!

All of our artists are equipped with everything necessary for a full hair and makeup application. All you need to bring are any accessories you will be wearing, your dress and a smile!
